Too late, too late to make them stay, The critics say the script is old,
It was amazing that Ashton had lived in San Francisco for so long and barely ever visited Chinatown. The time was nearing one - thirty pm on a cloudy April Saturday, and Ash was roaming the streets, merely wandering, letting his feet take him where they wanted. It was often boring days like this that he spent just wandering around different places, he could spend hours just exploring around his own world. Chinatown was a busy place; so many people pushed by. Some on cell phones, talking annoyingly loud, others chatting with anther person, many people were inside so many restaurants and shops, eating and making purchases. And others just seemed to wander, like himself. The only thing about this place was that massive amount of Asian people. They don't call it Chinatown for nothing, man. Ashton thought to himself, after thinking something so stupidly obvious.
As he passed by a small shop, something interrupted Ashton's thoughts. The place was small and the door was totally ajar, allowing the aroma of freshly cooked Chinese cuisine to float outside to him. His stomach gave a loud grumble, reminding him it had been far too long since breakfast. He gave a slight smile and walked inside, the delicious smell even stronger. Ashton silently thanked his father for insisting on giving him money today, though Ashton had told him over and over that he didn't need it. His father always tried to help him out financially, though Ashton enjoyed earning money on his own. He and his father both knew the relationship between them wasn't that best but they were trying hard to make it work, though William, Ash's father, thought he could buy his love. Honestly, Ashton would just be happier if he stopped giving him elaborate gifts and cash and just spent more time with him.
As he waited in line, Ashton checked out the restaurant. It was much smaller inside that it had appeared when he was standing outside, and it looked teeny to begin with. There were a couple of booths along the wall, and round, wooden tables scattered across the dining area. The majority of the room was taken up by three long bars of food. Normally, Ashton didn't live buffet style eating, but he didn't care this time. Breakfast was long gone and his stomach ached to be fed. Besides, the food smelled so delightful that they could have served it on a greasy paper plate and he would have happily taken it.
"Next," rang a foreign accent, breaking his focus away from observing the place. It was Ash's turn to order, finally. "Hello, welcome to Ling Ling's Buffet." Ashton gave a small smile to the older man behind the register. He spoke slowly, giving him an almost toothless grin. "What would you like to drink?" As he fished the twenty dollar bill from his back pocket, he responded "Diet Coke, please." At a slower than normal pace, the man filled a tall, translucent glass with ice and his beverage, then handed it off to a waitress who would seat Ashton. She came around from behind the counter, dressed in a tight blue, pink and white kimono. "Hello, this way to your table, please." She spoke in the same accent as the old man, only it sounded much prettier from her.
He followed her to a booth and she set his drink down gently as he sat. Ashton looked her over; she was young, probably about twenty - one and very attractive. "Just call me over if you need me," she said with a flash of her straight, gleaming teeth and patted him on the back, as if her were a child. Ash just gave a smile, hoping not to look as goofy as he felt. He always got so nervous around people, no matter who, he was just very shy. Actually, shy was a total understatement. He kept his head down as he walked over with a plate in hand to get some food, just knowing that the pretty waitress was looking at him. He quickly got his food and returned to his seat to eat. His stomach was actually hurting he was so hungry. His plate was piled high with different noodles and rices. Ashton began to eat, happy to finally have some food.
As he ate, he looked around at the different people dining with him. An older Asian couple sat at a small two person table, holding hand as they sipped coffee and spoke in hushed voices. On the other end of the room, a family of a mother, father and two small children, along with a teenage son sat. They weren't oriental, however. They looked more Irish since every head at the table had a mass of thick, fire red hair. Everyone seemed to have someone, but Ashton was eating alone. Normally, this wouldn't bother him; he ate at home alone every day, but he'd been by himself for hours, it would have been nice to have someone like Jessica, his step - mother to share a meal with. No matter, as soon as he finished his meal, he could head out to his father's home and visit, maybe even play with eleven year old step - sister, Bailey, who Ash thought so fondly of. Unlike his original one, Ashton loved his new family. For so long it was him and his father, so having a mother figure, and a sibling too, was a delight. Ashton sent a quick text to Jessica. "Are you guys home? I want to stop by and visit." He pressed send on his phone and returned it to his pocket and continued eating, praying the cute waitress wouldn't come back and he would make a fool of himself.

outfitVeronica yawned lightly as music filled in her ears. She sat up from her bed and looked around her room. It didn't look familiar at all. Not one bit. But then it came to her. She wasn't at home. She was at her new home with her brothers. But now she could call it home. She was with her four brothers that she loved and they loved her back. Everything was perfect, well almost I suppose. All Veronica Williams needed now was some friends. Though she found it kind of hard to find some like this. She was on drugs but for the most part of it, well she's been trying to quit. But then when they moved she was able to take a break. It's been three days since she's touched anything. Including a razor or knife. Veronica was pretty damn proud of herself for once too. The feeling was good and she was determined to quit cutting and doing drugs for good. Though she knew she'd need some help with it. She thought it was impossible to stop on her own. Maybe the cutting would slow down since she had moved and she wasn't always trying to commit suicide or run away. Besides, now she had her brothers to watch her and make sure she didn't cut. That was all they knew about their sister. They yet had to know about her drug abuse. Oh what a conversation that would be. Veronica could already picture what it would be like.
"Guys, I'm on drugs" "WHAT?!?!"
Veronica didn't want to actually have to think about having to tell her brothers so she was going to try and quit before they found out. Oh boy this was going to be interesting. Now all she needed was someone to help her quit. This was going to be a very interesting. But seriously, who would want to help a sixteen year old drug addict girl try and quit drugs? Veronica wouldn't. Especially because when shes on drugs or hasn't had drugs in a while she tends to become a bitch and doesn't really talk to anybody. But thats also half because she has no confidence. Or very little for that matter. Well she didn't back in Australia. Maybe now here she will be able to gain some. Today was the day that she was going to try. No matter what she was going to talk to someone randomly anywhere. Veronica stood up to go out but then looked down at herself. She was a mess, she was wearing her plaid pajama bottoms and her foster brother Mikey's old t-shirt that was really baggy on her. Her hair was all messy in its pony tail that she had put it in the night before when she had gotten home. Right before she fell asleep.
Veronica quickly scrambled into the bathroom where she stared at herself in the mirror for a moment and then realized how bad she looked right at this exact moment. So she stripped out of her clothes and jumped into the water. She let the steaming hot water run down on her for a few minutes before she quickly washed her hair and body. The small girl got out of the shower and dried herself off. She wrapped the towel around herself and dried her hair with the blow dryer. She decided to just leave it down today to make her look more...cute? Yeah thats the word. Veronica walked into her bedroom and looked through her unpacked boxes. She found a blue dress she had made herself. She slipped into that and then walked over to her dresser where there was assorted necklaces, earing's, bracelets and rings. She slipped a ring on and the guitar pick necklace she had gotten as a gift from Mikey before she left. She then slipped on a few brackets onto both of her arms to keep from anyone seeing her scars from her cutting.
Veronica then slipped into her black flip flops and started out the door for who knows where. She walked down the streets before she looked around thinking of where to go. Veronica then smiled as she realized where she was. She was close to Chinatown. This was perfect. She'd always wanted to go to Chinatown but hasn't been able to until now. And she didn't live too far from there so she would just walk there. So thats what she did. Veronica walked rather quickly actually. She was just that excited to see if she could actually gain some confidence today. Because right now she had a feeling she could. This was a whole new Country and she was going to have a whole new life here no matter what it takes. And she knew it was going to be a long time until she was officially someone new. But she had a feeling that she was going to be able to get off the heroine and coke. As well as the cutting. Though the cutting would be easier to quit. So she decided that that would be what she started with on what to quit first. It seemed easier.
Before she knew it Veronica was in a restraint she had never seen before. It smelled really good and she was starving. So she walked into the place and looked around. Before she waited in line to get what she wanted she scanned the area. She then smiled as she saw a lot of people. But really only one boy stood out. He was really cute and he had a similar style to her. She smiled a little and then walked over to him and then waved a little as she nodded down to wards the seat across from him. "Mind if I sit?" She asked in a soft but strong Australian accent and a gentle smile. He was adorable and he seemed like someone she'd want to get to know. And hopefully he wasn't waiting for anybody to meet. Otherwise her confidence was officially gone. She'd had made a fool out of herself in front of a very cute guy. It was only her second day here too.

I would have stayed awake and found a way To make every soul in the crowd stand and say "Bittersweet and cheap! But the ending makes it strong!"
As Ashton ate and awaited a reply from his stepmother, he did what he did best: observe, people - watch. Sure, it was a strange habit, it was almost a little weird that he enjoyed it, but there was just something about seeing how people acted and looked when they think no one is watching. That's something about Ashton, he's very observant, which usually gives him a pretty good judge of character when it came to meeting new people. Though, it wasn't everyday that he made a new friend, seeing as to how terribly shy he was. Ash shoved the last bit of noodles on his plate into his mouth and headed back to the food bar for round two. For such a small guy, he sure could eat, and today he was especially hungry. All this wandering works up an appetite.
Heading back to his booth, he found himself face to face with the cute waitress, again. He felt his cheeks go slightly hot. He slipped back into his seat, waiting for her to say something so he could reply back and trip over every word, but she just merely smiled at him and replenished his cup of Diet Coke. Ash managed to smile back, but it came out more shy and awkward than confident and friendly, as he had hoped for. Mentally, he was beating himself up as she walked away. At nineteen you'd think he wouldn't act as bashful as a twelve year old with a crush. To be honest, there wasn't a confident bone in his body, but he tried to remember Jessica's kind advice. 'Calm down, kid. You're a nice guy. You're sweet, intelligent, and talented. One day you'll make some gal very happy. Or guy.' Yes, his step - mother knew that he was bisexual, something he had yet to tell his father. He and Jess just clicked, it was as if she were his real mother, seventeen years late.
Being incredibly observant, Ashton began to notice the amount of customers starting to come into Ling Ling's. He scanned the register line seeing about five or six bodies lined up. By the looks of it, there wasn't going to be much room for that many. At the end of the line stood a small female. Normally, this wouldn't be something to give second thought to, only she was staring right back at him. He darted his eyes away bashfully back to his heaping plate of Chinese food. He hated when people caught him looking at them, and it didn't help if the person was terribly cute, either. He looked back up, just checking to see if she wasn't giving him an insane look.
Oh, no. In a way, her reaction was much worse. Instead of giving him a funny look or completely ignoring him, as most people do, she was smiling! More than smiling, she was heading over his way. On one hand, it was nice to be interested in, to be noticed by someone like this girl. On the other hand, as soon as he would open his mouth to speak everything would more than likely come out a jumbled up mess. Shit, shit, shit! he thought to himself, growing nervous. Ashton could barely converse with strangers over the phone, so dealing with them in person was a challenge. He returned her smile and wave, hoping to appear calm and collected. "May I sit?" he heard her ask, motioning to the seat across from him. More than anything, Ashton wanted to sound cool, or have some sort of witty comeback, but all he could manage was a simple nod. Damnit, man!
Ashton produced a small smile from across her view as she sat. "What's uhm, your er, uh, name?" How smooth, Ash. Oh, man. She was way more attractive up close, he noticed it right away. He couldn't help but wonder, What's a pretty girl like her doing taking interest in a shy guy like me? He looked over her clean, girly appearance and thought about his own. Long hair, largely stretched ears, tight jeans, and a septum ringing hanging from his nostrils. No matter what she appeared to be, there she was right before him, smiling, probably laughing to herself. "I'm Ash," he informed her, sticking out a large, bony hand to shake.

Veronica smiled softly down at the boy as he told her she could sit down across from him. So she slid into the seat across from him and bit down on her lip nervously. The boy had stuttered a little when he spoke so she had a kind of had an idea that he was shy and didn't have much confidence either. That just made Veronica have even less confidence now. Though she was kind of fine with that. It was just easier now to practice her confidence. But would she really be able to? She'd practically be lying to the poor boy then if she acted all confident. That wasn't who she really was and so now she was debating on weather or not to try and act the part or just act her normal self. Now there was two parts of her mind having a war and it was getting annoying. Soon enough Veronica's head started to hurt so she put her hand up to her forehead and closed her eyes for a moment trying to think and get her thoughts straight. She finally decided on being a mix of the two. She'd have little confidence but act her normal self at the same time. If he'd ever ask about her confusedness then she'd just say she was trying an experiment. It could very well work right? Though the boy would probably just sit there staring at her like she was an idiot. Which she was most of the time.
Thanks. Veronica finally said to the boy with a light gentle smile. She studied his features for a moment and took in his profile. He was very cute and she really hoped now that she wouldn't make an idiot of herself in front of him. That wouldn't be too good considering she hasn't been here long at all and she didn't want to make a fool out of herself the second day she was here. She'd be known as the new girl with the stupid accent and a klutz. Though people would figure that out already on the first day of school. She was honestly a huge klutz. She fell all the time over little things. Even chairs when she's not paying attention. Part of the reason she is always falling and stuff is because she is off daydreaming in her own little world and never really is paying attention to where she is walking. Weather its walking down the street, the hall or even walking down the stairs. She was known as the biggest klutz at her old school. Where she had very little friends. Though being called the school klutz so many times, well Veronica has just been getting used to the fact that people all think of her in different ways. She's learned to block lots of things that she doesn't like out of her mind and out of her life. So far it's been pretty good though, being able to ignore and stuff.
Veronica placed her small pale hand into the boys as he held it out and introduced himself. Not to many people shook hands anymore. Well not in Australia anyways. But she didn't mind it at all. It was kind of nice to meet someone different, and from the looks of the boy, he was surely different. In a very good way though. He looked amazing. He looked kind of like one of her brothers in a way. But a lot cuter. His earing's were really cool and so was his hair. He looked as if someone she would like to get to know. So she was going to try her best and become friends with him if he'd want her to. Well if he'd want to get to know her and maybe come friends. Nice to meet you Ash. Veronica told him with another small smile. She let go of his hand and sat back in her seat. I'm Veronica She introduced herself simply.
The boy didn't look too much older than her and she wondered if he went to the same school as her. So instead of asking if he went to a specific school she just simply asked If you don't mind, what school do you go to?. That way he wouldn't think she was an idiot if he had gone to college or another school. But she really just hoped he went to her school. Then she'd at least know a few people she could go to for help or someone to talk to. He seemed pretty friendly even if he was pretty shy. She was shy sometimes as well so it just made things even better for her. They could share interests and she already knew they shared similar styles by his looks and his choosing of clothes. They were pretty cute and he was absolutely adorable. In a grown man kind of way.

Too late, too late to see the show, Everyone's going home,
Ashton watched the girl curiously, not in a dead on creepy stare, but well enough to notice a few things. She had a soft, Austrailian accent (which was totally amazing his book, he loves accents.), she looked a few years younger than himself, and that maybe she wasn't a confident as she had made appeared to be when she approached him. He watched as she closed her eyes and put a pale, fraile looking hand to her forehead, looking a bit frustrated. Perhaps I have a shy one on my hands? Ash thought to himself, which made him calm down a little less. There was just something about being around super cocky people that made him highly uncomfortable if he didn't know them. However, less confident people eased his nerves, he supposed it was because they were more like him. He gave a gentle smile and waited for the girl to respond. He almost began to ask if she was alright, but he figured that would be somewhat embarassing.
He looked her over; like before, he noticed she was young, fifteen or sixteen maybe? Age aside, she was adorable from a far, and even more close up. Long, brilliant red brown locks, a teeny frame dressed in a dress that was an appealing shade of blue. Suddenly, Ash became aware of himself, beging to slightly panic. He hadn't intended on meeting anyone today and wasn't looking at his best. His hair wasn't pin straight, like he usually liked it. In fact, he'd spent a total of two and a half minutes on it before heading out that door. On his upper body was an old, faded The Academy Is... tee with the sleeves torn off and a mustard yellow hobo looking scarf hanging around loosely from his neck. God, I hope I don't look like an idiot, he thought to himself. He glanced down, sort of grimacing, and then glanced back to the girl across from him, who had found her composure once more.
"Nice to meet you, Ash," she had responded with a small smile, excepting his offer of a handshake. "I'm Veronica." "Veronica," he repeated. "Nice." He was starting to feel a bit more friendly now, but of course he never let his guard down; he was always freaking out to a certian degree on the inside. Even alone in the comforts of his own home he found things to worry about. Perhaps it was insane and unusual, but, hey, he was an unusual guy. "If you don't mind, what school do you go to?" She asked next in her sweet Aussie accent. He smiled as he listened to they was she talked. "San Francisco University High School." He responded, slowly twirling his fork between his fingers. "I'm a college freshman there." Next he expected her took appear shocked, or something along those lines. Almost everyone thought at he was still a high school sophomore or something! Yes, he was a little guy, but it sort of annoyed him sometimes. "What about yourself? You don't sound like you're from around here." He gave a little half - grin to her; what could he say? He was a sucker for accents. He could already tell that he and Veronica would probably be excellent friends. But only time could tell, of course.
[ooc; It falls a little short, but I promise you a long post next reply. (:

Veronica's headache finally started to go away as she looked at Ash and saw his smile. He seemed to be sweet so far and she was beginning to get comfortable around him. It was like the war had ended finally in her mind and she had finally decided to just try and be herself. It was just that simple to be herself...kind of...in an odd way. Though she had thought it would be kind of hard to be herself if she began to like the boy, well maybe the boy was into confident girls. No, Veronica was just going to be herself. She'd eventually find people who like her for who she is. But just because she didn't tell him something, doesn't mean she's technically lying right? She wasn't going to tell him she was on drugs and that she cuts herself. As soon as she thought about the cuts she moved her arms from sitting on the table to down in her lap so he couldn't see the cuts even by accident. That wouldn't be too good if he found out about how shitty of a life she has right now as soon as she met him.
Veronica looked over Ash's appearance. He looked really cute. Surprisingly he was talking to her. Not many people back in Australia spoke to her because they knew about her cutting and stuff andknew about her running away from home. The rumors that got started around school didn't help at all either. Someone had apparently started a rumor around that Veronica had gotten pregnant and had an abortion. People started hating her because they thought she was cruel to the baby. But that wasn't true at all. She never had an abortion and if she did ever get pregnant, accident or not. She would never get one either. She'd do it properly. Raise the child weather she had a boy to help her or not. Veronica knew she'd never get pregnant until she was married either. Though she loved kids. People who didn't know her would think she hated kids because of her drug and alcohol abuse. But Veronica loved kids. They were absolutely adorable and she loved playing with them. They were the ones who had brought out her inner kid in her and made her forget about her other problems she had.
There was another rumor that had gotten started around school, there had been a boy who had gotten mad at Veronica cause she rejected him. So he had started a rumor around that she had sex with her brother. It was a very nasty rumor that had gotten around and she had gotten so mad that she went and attempted suicide that night. That was only one out of the three times that she tried to do that though. Yes there had been other times she had tried to commit suicide. The two other times were because of her family being split up. Though every time she attempted it she had failed each and every time. Which I guess could be a pretty good thing considering now that she was here, she was going to start a new life. She wasn't going to wait, starting....now Veronica Lily Williams decided that she was going to quit drugs, start fresh, and not get any rumors started about her. She was going to do lots of things to change her life around and make it a better life. Maybe she'd find someone to help her stop too. Veronica had a feeling that this boy was going to be a good friend of hers soon enough.
Veronica then smiled and nodded. Thats cool. I go there I think, well thats where I was told I was going. I'll be a high school junior though. She told him with a slight shrug. She didn't really want to go to that school. It probably just had those kids that they had back in Australia. So she just had to wait now until she was able to see for herself. she also made sure that when she was there to not let anybody get to her and not act all confident like she planned on it. If there was one thing that Veronica hated, it was drama. Thats exactly what she'd bring to the school if she pretended to be someone she wasn't. Then she'd just screw up her life even more than she already had. But now why was Veronica acting like this? Why was she always thinking so negatively? She made another mental note to herself to keep away from the negative things in life and work on thinking positive thoughts. Like living with her brothers and her friends that she may have soon. Also her guitar. Yeah thats it. Every time she starts to think negatively she'll think about her guitar and how she'll get to play it when she got home. That will work...hopefully.
Veronica then blushed slightly as he half-grinned at her and asked if she was from around her. Well not technically asking but basically pointing it out. Nah. I just moved here yesterday from Australia. I really like it here actually. She told him using her very thick Australian accent. Extending it a bit more than usual just for him since he seemed to like her accent in a way. Most of the reason she liked it here was because she'd a met a few really cool people here so far. She'd met Ash and Parker as well the day before. They were both really welcoming and neither seemed to mind her being their. So maybe being the new girl wouldn't be so bad. She'd have Parker during school and Ash outside of school considering he was in college. Veronica smiled over at Ash and shook her head slightly. So what is this place? She suddenly asked curiously as she glanced around the restaurant. It was a very nice place really.

And if I could have known on that winter day, That you'd fade away and only I was to blame,
Finally, a reason to calm down, for even only a small while. Ash's nerves were becoming more loose as he saw Veronica's were as well. So far, she'd seemed very friendly, and not so cocky, as she had appeared, though just waltzing over and asking to sit with a complete stranger was a pretty bold move. Confident, but not annoyingly confident; it was a good quality to have if you wanted to win Ash over. Shy people, sure they were usually nice and came out of their shell after a while, but he had enough insecurities to deal with himself without someone elses coming in the picture. However, overly confident people just scared the hell out of him. They made him nervous and terribly aware of all his faults. Watching people deal and except their flaws and problems had a way of just making him overanlyze his more and more. Ash wishes he could say he wasn't a picky person, but. . . Ash is a picky person.
Nice. It turns out, Veronica will be attending his school. In a way, this sort of sparked a tiny bit of excitment with him. Now he could have someone to say hello to in the hallways as made his way to his classes and maybe have lunch with on occasion. "Well, if you need any help, just find me." He told her with a nod. "I've been going there since I was a high school freshman, so, I kind of know my way around." He pushed his plate to other side of the table, seeing that he was caught up in something more interesting that eating. "Though, I don't know how in tune our schedules will be," he went on to say. She was in high school, he was in college, which equaled way different class times. "I have a weird schedule at times." Not that he minded, in fact, it was a lot more flexible than being in high school. Some days he didn't have class until noon or one in the afternoon. However, some days he was in class by eight in the morning, but, hey, he dealt.
"I suspected you were an Aussie," Ashton grinned as she revealed that she'd just moved here. Ashton spoke again, not even thinking. "I have to admit, I adore the accent." Whoa, did he really just say that? How unlike him. He was never one to give out compliments or even flirt with a girl. His cheeks began to burn red as he realized what he'd just said. Ah, shit shit shit, I knew there would be a way for me to screw up! "So, uhm, uh, yea, it is pretty nice here, I guess." So now he was back to square one, tripping over his words. It was amazing how such a small slip up could kill any confident that Ash once had. He looked away for a moment, terrible mortified. What if she thought he was being weird, or something. I'll be kicking myself in ass for this one tonight.
"So, what is this place?" It took a moment for Ashton to comprehend what she was saying. He stared in a daze for a moment, searching his brain for something to say. "Uhm, a Chinese resturant?" What did she mean anyway. The seats, plates, bars of food, why wasn't this obvious? They had Chinese joints in Austraila, right? "Wait, what do you mean?" Everythink in Ash's brain was totally scrambled. It was just a normal day, he was going out and just happened to stop by here and eat, and then, BAM!, a cute girl comes over and sparks up conversation, and his train of though it totally messed up. And even now, he didn't know how to take this. It was good, because he rarely found himself getting this much attention, on the other hand, more attention just meant more chances to screw up.

Veronica nodded a little. Now that she knew someone that went to the same school as her, it'd be a tad bit better I suppose. Though he was older. Not someone that Veronica would technically get along with. But she was going to try it anyways and try and become friends with the boy. Only if he'd be willing too talk to a younger girl like Veronica in school. He didn't seem to be like someone who would talk to her in school, but hey, she wasn't the one to judge. Besides, he could very well be someone she will like very much later on in the future. Just maybe. Because believe it or not, Veronica never really liked many guys in her past. Sure she liked Mikey and her other band mate, and her brothers, but not in like the romantic way that most girls have for many guys. It just never really happened to Veronica. Sure she made out with guys and flirted at clubs and danced together. But Veronica had always been drunk at that time, as well as the other boy. Veronica knows why too. No guys want a girl like Veronica. Nobody wants a small anorexic, druggie/alcoholic girl who cuts herself. They just don't.
Veronica smiled a little and shook her head. Whats it like at the school? I'm just really nervous I guess. She told him with a slight nod. At least she was being honest about being nervous. She was actually kind of surprised at herself for not lying to the boy. When it came to things like this, being nervous and all, well veronica just kept that all to herself. for specific reasons I suppose. But what reasons would that be for? She just assumed it was because the boy was being nice and that he might just offer to help her around school, or give advice for her. About being the new girl and all and having to deal with people staring at her on her way in. It just creeped her out kind of in a way. Though she wasn't too afraid of what people would think about her. They all are probably just like the people back home. The people who hated her. People who never gave Veronica a chance to get to know her. But maybe Ashton was different from everybody else. Maybe he will just be nice to her. Because when she had wished earlier that he'd help her around, it came true. For once.
Veronica could feel the heat rushing up to her face as Ashton spoke about adoring her accent. Personally, Veronica didn't really like it. She didn't try to use it. It was only natural for her since she had grown up in Australia. Now by this time when he started stuttering over his words, she just knew she was a really deep shade of red. She knew it would stand out too since she was so pale, the color this red on her cheeks just didn't seem normal. So it was obvious to anybody that she was blushing. That was one of the reasons that she hated her looks. She thought she was fat even though she was honestly skinny, but also because of her skin color. It was so pale, that she couldnt even get tan out in the sun if she stayed out there all day. That was probably a reason why people just thought she was from the north somewhere and instead of Australia. They seemed to not believe her that she was from Australia if it weren't for her thick accent.
As soon as Veronica finally snapped out of pointing out her flaws of her body in her mind, she looked over at Ashton and bit down on her lip as she continued to blush. Oh, uhm thanks. I guess I, well, Now it was her turn to trip over her words. But instead of saying anything else again, she just stayed quiet and sat back in her seat and looked around the restaurant, everywhere but at Ashton. She probably just made a huge fool out of herself and that wasn't a good thing. She knew now that he wouldn't think of her as confident. But he wasn't either, so maybe having little confidence was a good thing to Ash. But maybe not. She was just dying to know if he was or not. Not that she would change herself or anything, she wold just finally be able to know what he would like. Thats all. She then bit down on her lip as she turned even redder if that was even possible since she was already really really red. She'd look really not normal if she got any redder.
It was kind of obvious where they were, but she was trying to make conversation. Honestly she didn't know what this place was though. She didn't know what was up with it. She didn't know like what it was. What kind of restaurant it was and stuff. Veronica was finally able to lift her gaze to meet Ash's again. She gave him a small smile and shrugged, pushing off her nervous nerves. This place I suppose. I've never eaten Chinese food before. She admitted. Just hopefully he wouldn't ask if she would want something to eat. Otherwise what was she supposed to tell him? She was starving but she just wouldn't eat. She only will eat rarely and only salads. Thats only if shes really that hungry which doesnt happen too often. No way for her turning around right now to start eating at a Chinese restaurant. But it just smelt so good, it was starting to get the best of Veronica at this moment.
