APPEARANCE
eyes
eyes, just like words tell a story with every glance, stare, or gaze. those piercing green blue eyes belong to maverick. the stunning glass pools that his wonderful mother gave to him, that can change to a pale grey when he is feeling down. they make him look even more fragile than he really is, even though you don't want to take more than five minutes staring into them. eyes are the first thing maverick ever looks at when he is introduced to someone. he is most lovely when they flash a colour of ivory seeing as they seem to be changing quite fast to ivory from his green stunning eyes. no matter what colour they are, maverick has those stunning baby eyes that you can just stare into all day and he can persuade any one with them. they reflect what he says when he wants them to and hides his emotions when he wants them to as well.
hair
dark brown and black locks of hair form perfectly around his face. every hair is either in the right place or in the wrong place. naturally wavy brown hair that has been from dark brown to black to completely bone straight to a little bit wave to it. most of the time maverick's hair is straight or he has a hat on. either way, his hair always fits his mood. if it is messy, it usually means he is tired. if he gets some highlights added to it, then his mood is usually more crazy than usual, meaning staying away from him might be a good idea unless you want to go for a drive with him out to the middle of no where, skateboard, and then drive home at three in the morning while your alseep and he is wide awake with a ton of energy and hat hair from not taking off his hat once.
face
with his pouty pink lips, the kid is in every way touchable. no baby pouts are given on his lips. his facial expressions are hard and sharp. watch out, he's like a razor blade. he always seems to have the wrong expression adorned to his face for the wrong moment in time. it seemed that he was never going to be one of those kids that got to get to shave there faces. he finds himself lucky in that sense. starting at age twelve, maverick always never had a baby face. his perfect jaw and tight cheek bones form a mature looking face that is fit. and his sunglasses always fit his nose perfectly when they are never personally made for him. he gave up his baby features the day he decided that acted like a baby was needed. maverick is always clean cut looking besides the sometimes noticable cuts he gets on his face from doing who knows what, but sometimes they are just there.
height
no matter how tall maverick ever got, he would never be tall enough. standing five nine now, his height supports his weight, but he always feels like he is the sort one out of his friends who used to always tower over him. growing up maverick stood the shortest in his class, cute with wavy light brown hair and red cheeks. it wasn't until he turned thirteen when he went from four eleven to five five, growing four more inches over the years. that was when he started to grow, but before that point, he was the skinny short kid that ran around and acted mad, listening to crazy music that most people hated that he went to school with but his best friends who were always much older than him that took him to gigs, which was always one of the reasons he always felt short and young.
weight
drugs didn't do to good to maverick's weight, sending him way underweight than he should of ever been. luckily, he has gained most of it back when he got in better health. maverick now weights near one hundred and twenty pounds, which is skinny for his height, but he used to be always under. growing up he was always a skinny kid, which mostly had to do with his mother who sometimes forgot that she even had a son that she had to feed, but most of the time she was good about feeding him. maverick will never be happy with his height and weight, but he had learned to live with it and doesn't care as much as he used to, but food has never been his favourite thing and he doesn't pick up every type of food these days. there are certain things he will just never eat.
clothing
maverick style is never set in stone. he will come to school one day dressed in black skinny jeans and a misfit t-shirt on his back and the next day he will come into school with a collard shirt and blue jeans, but you don't see that very much anymore. maverick always wears skinny jeans. blue, dark blue, black, gray, every colour including red and other colours like that. his shirts include anything from something like lowlife, fox, or burton, and band shirts along with tight sweatshirts. his outfits are never complete without his shoes mostly containing slip ons, but also vans, dc, adidas, puma, converse, macbeth, and many others. the only thing that ever you will find on his wrists are wristbands for concerts. sometimes he will wear a hat, but not much thought ever goes into what he going to be wearing for the day. he usually just picks up whatever he finds on his floor that isn't dirty.

personality
to live, you much impact at least one person's life were they will never forget you as much as they may try, and all the while they try not to because in the back of their tiny little mind, who would want to forget maverick. lets just say, that once maverick enters the life of someone else, even by a simple glance, they will never forget his face or the setting his eyes held in place. it takes eighteen years to live his life, but he can sum it up for anyone in a couple of simple words that leave you utterly speechless and without a clue what has just happened. knowing that you feel sorry because his life was hell, but he doesn't care because he knows that there are a million of other people that have a horrible life just like him, so he doesn't like to brag about it. if you ask, he tells. it isn't like he is touchy about his past because all he has ever wanted to do was changed other people's lives. he was loved, had money, and did whatever he wanted. the one thing that he hates more than anything is when people go on and on about their past. everyone has one and so does maverick, so he doesn't need to hear about anyone else's, especially when he doesn't know who you are. maverick can never remember, but for those of the lives he has entered with a great deal of chaos that just seems to stop when he walks through the doors with the very quaint calming smile that he always wears upon his face, no one ever seems o forget mr. kelly. from his smile to his voice to the words he sets out to sail and into the ears of anyone who is willing to listen, and it seems that there is always someone who is willing to listen.
maverick never lived off of anyone but himself and what he had. some people considered him a chav, but he had the love from most people. anyone that he was willing to visit and talk back to seemed to love him, and the one person that he wanted to be loved back by did, very much. so, he always considered himself lucky to be loved by the most beautiful people to his eyes. with the love for many other things, other things that could not love him back, yet they seemed to in his mind because they made him happy, that was drugs. it only became apparent when he started to loose so much weight and get back mood swings and he just changed, of course for the worst. most people noticed because he was this quiet, happy loving kid and once he got hurt, very bad, and got addicted to the drugs that the doctors gave him, there was no going back and the only person that he needed to care about was himself. even with that and becoming more and more selfish, he was hurting himself, so there was no care in that. being selfish in that very way only hurt him. once he noticed the real change with the help of the people that he loved, well he wanted to change back to who he was before, which became more and more impossible every pill he popped and every smoke he inhaled. there was no stopping him. karston was the most stubborn kid you would ever meet in your entire life. he took no answer from anyone else but from himself, and that is why he stopped dead and cold. it took a long time, but he got over it with the help of his friends and so far, he hasn't gone back down that path since he moved to the states and out of anyone else's hands.
for anyone that knew maverick knew how loyal he really was. as much as he may not seem like the loyal type, he really was. give him a time and place, he was there, and he would come back, every week unless there was something horribly wrong. the one thing he was most loyal to is of course love. the one thing that can hurt him to no end he is loyal too, finding that love is a horrible thing, but you can not live without horrible things in your life, just like maverick. by accepting those things, he learned to love them, along with people he learned to love good and bad things. he finds that there is no limit to how much you can love one thing or no limit to how much you can hate one thing just the same. you can fight it or accept it, but there is no fighting the power and emotion of love. that is like fighting off all the bugs in the world. there would be no meat left on your body just by the time all the ants take over you. in that, there is just no fight when it comes down to that. everyone knows who the winner is. maverick doesn't challenge emotions like he does to people. he finds that is is useless and knows he will never win. he finds people that try to fight the emotion of hungry and crazy. he knows when to say no and stop, but he fight sudden urges are hard enough were he had not enough energy for. he has energy for everything else, but that. either way, karston finds that having any feelings at all and being able to use them makes him lucky and special and likes how he can choose some of the times how he feels without anyone else telling him how to feel. he can love you or hate you. either way, you have no say in which one he chooses for your fate.
his black hair and pierced ears do not tell you how much the teenager is a huge nerd. maverick could live in a bookstore if he could choose. he has read more books than anyone will ever know and he is slightly proud of it. not that he goes around to his friends and tell them about his latest romance story that he read because he likes sappy. maverick has that brilliant but insane beauty to him. he gets the most amazing grades, yet is just slightly on the insane side, more like he is. every extremely smart person has some mental thing wrong with them, right? not that is shows in karston's case. he really is smart and hates it when people stereotype him other wise by just the way he looks. all you have to do is listen o him talk for two seconds and he will dumbfound you by the words he uses. the most powerful weapon is the power of words, and karston has that. someone may be able to pack a punch, but what use is it if maverick can make you stop and have to go find a dictionary? he loves to learn new things. he learned how to speak english in less than two weeks. he tries not to miss school ever since he slacked when he got really into drugs, but now that he is better, he goes every day of the year and learns something everyday. once maverick finds something he likes to do and wants to know how to do it, there is no stopping him until he gets it right. he is that type of person who will not leave a room until he gets a certain problem right. although, he doesn't go public about it or tell anyone else how smart he is. he hates bragging and people that brag. he tells those type of people to go to hell. he may help other people, but he turns down any offers to join any type of team for the school.
maverick may be smart and a very loyal person, but you don't wan to be on his bad side no matter what. maverick can be a huge ass, no matter who you are. he can just be plain out nasty and doesn't care what happens afterwards. he is stubborn and is a huge smart ass in a wise way, though. nothing fools him and he can tell if you are telling the truth or not. he has spent eighteen years of his life observing people, he should know every move before they happen. if he knows you that well, hat you might want to run and hide if you somehow get on his bad side. whatever you say and do may hurt you afterwards if you use him. that equals hurt, and karston can hurt you back ten times worse than you did to him. although, maverick is a huge flirt and usually gets what he wants. normally he isn't a huge sleep around type of guy, but if he feels like that, he will be. just don't get him drunk because then he is a flirt with the smart ass attitude that may turn some people on, but can turn anyone off as well with the whole can't touch this sort of tone and smile that make you just wan to touch him. if he doesn't want it, then he will just simply walk away or ignore you. if you want to get yelled at then you can ignore those sings, but best not ignore any sign he gives you, good or bad because he pays attention and knows just when you are and are not. it is just as easy when your talking on the phone and someone isn't paying attention back, and anyone who has a brain can tell about that. maverick has always had more than just any brain, everyone knows that as well. maverick likes challenges and learns from them. anyone that gives him a challenge just intrigues him to no limit. anyone that does, will have all the maverick kelley they will ever need, that is until he wins the challenge.

history
born on the island of sicily, italy, the boy was left for death. his father was full of no ambition and need for the kid as his wife died giving birth to the tiny baby boy with the blackest hair he had ever layed his eyes upon, naturally thinking the boy was plain evil from what he had done. who he did not even know what he had done. so, the man left his son and his wife of five years, taking there other daughter and leaving for the states while their son, who was named maverick was left with his mother. a lady who was visiting the country decided to take it upon herself to take the young boy who had no other family. even though he would be put up for adoption by the hospital, what she did still was considered kidnapping. she took a young boy away from all other life without papers or anything and she herself was quiet insane as she moved back to her own home in the netherlands, calling the kid her own, while it was very clear that the boy looked nothing like the fragile young blond who told everyone that she herself as born with black hair and it later turned out to be the clear blond hair that held place on her perfect young looking face. yet, maverick did not know any better and called the lady mother like every other boy as she fed him, bought him new clothes, and would later send him off to school just like any normal boy. audrey though, only ate macaroni and cheese herself and sometimes talked to the boy like he was a dog. over time maverick began to have to fend for himself.
in her home there was many things that he was not allowed to touch. she was brilliant and held many different items that she invented to later make use out of, but never seemed to do. late at night when the lady would fall asleep in her old chair he would work on one of the machines and learn out to run them. audrey took maverick to the zoo every monday, wednesday, and friday as she was set out to work at the zoo, that was until maverick met a man who took many pictures with a polaroid camera. maverick was fascinated by this at the young age of six. the man noticed this and gave maverick his own camera for christmas that year. that same man was convicted of killing his girlfriend at that same zoo the next week and his mother no longer brought him to the zoo, and maverick hide the camera, and now was completely interested in murders. he loved everything about them because at the age he was at, he didn't understand death and how it worked. his mother was naturally horrified by this, but liked it at the same time, buying him mystery books and movies for him to watch as she worked. it was a way for him to not bother her, and she really enjoyed her time alone, often setting up little mysteries around the tiny home when she had time that maverick loved. to the boy, there was nothing better than figuring something out and knowing what everything meant. he only feared the things that he could not explain, and so he tried to explain a reason for everything. if there was a reason and he knew how it worked, there was nothing to fear about it. the teachers took notice in how smart he was, but paid little attention to it knowing that some of the things he liked, they didn't approve of themselves.
when maverick was eight, he learned about a feeling that he could not explain, love. it baffled him and hurt his mind as he gained full feelings to a girl who showed no interest in him in return. his mother was no longer to be seen in public, but that didn't bother maverick. he often took pictures of the girl, and she let him with the camera that the man gave him. when his mother found out about his love and the man who gave him the camera got out of jail, audrey stopped karston when he wanted to go see the man by moving away from the tiny little town to amsterdam. his mother herself found love now that she was out of the house again, no longer in fear of anything after they moved. he was eleven when audrey married the druggie, knowing he had to be insane himself for marring the woman. that was the same man who, at age fourteen, was drunk behind the wheel from picking karston up from school and drive them off a cliff. yasper did not get many injuries himself, but karston gained a broken shoulder, huge gashes on his back, and almost splitting his leg into two. with nothing else to relieve the pain for time being, the doctors put him on oxycodone. with addiction running through his blood, he became addicted to the drug even after the family moved back to his hometown were he met up with the love of his life a year later when he turned fifteen, both all grown up and out of the young faces and bodies they held when they were eight. it was the only good thing to maverick about moving back home, knowing his mother would not come out of the house again just like she didn't before.
jacomina fell in love with maverick, buying him a new camera for him to use. yet, there love was harder than they would think before they found out that there parents hated each other and there feelings for each other were forbidden. yet, that did not stop them. audrey spilled about his birth one night during dinner when she had a little too much to drink, which was the same night yasper brought up the pills he found in maverick's room that he looked for after realizing how his step-son was changing and loosing much needed weight. the couple kicked him out of the house, not wanting anything to do with the young teenager. he gladly left knowing he had been lied at for all those years and almost killed twice by the man his mother had married. karston told everything to jacomina, who made maverick promise to stop and he could stay with her. at the age of seventeen, everything was fine and maverick was able to sneak into her bedroom every night because he had before. except, jacomina's mother noticed her daughter acting different and her going to bed early, so one morning she walked into the bedroom while her daughter and maverick were asleep. her cries of shame woke them both up. the only thing she knew to do was get a gun a shoot the boy. only as she pulled the trigger, she accidentally had it aimed at her daughter who was then shot dead. out of grief, she let the boy join in on the funeral knowing that her daughter really did love the boy and maverick never did anything wrong and never ever hurt her in any way possible as karston loved her as much as she loved her own daughter. she felt terrible for everything.
later that same day, she found jacomina's box of all the pictures of her and maverick and letters and items, along with all of maverick's belongings that were hidden in her room. she invited maverick over and they had a long talk were she told him she was sorry and really liked him as a person, telling him that her love was forbidden as well. karston stayed with her for a little while before she gave him the help to move to the states after she made sure he was no longer addicted to drugs, and he was not. although, after he moved to the states, he became depressed about his dead lover and one day met up with his real father who explained everything to his son. he was happy to take in his son now that his daughter had moved out with her own daughter and off to collage she went. lancer felt bad for everything he put his son through, which was why he let him stay, but knew he could not make up for all the years, and maverick told him there was no need to do that. lancer now had a new wife and baby boy who loved maverick. maverick now stays with lancer and his wife and son in his last year of high school, glad that it is almost over. his life has started over again and maverick knows he is going to get it right this time around, or at least he has a feeling that he will. after all the years of messing up, he doesn't plan on messing up again.

Her vocal cords were on the edge of being lost as they were being strained as the wild little girl flew around the park like she was a cat chasing a bee, or a bee chasing a cat rather. Apparently a two year old does not want to waste any time of all the new things in her sight, yet these things were not new. The trees had been seen every minute of her little waking eyes, yet for some reason they intrigued her like they were a alien on planet earth. So, that left the seventeen year old, breathless and tired. What else was there to do one a nice day besides let the kid run wild. She didn't want to be cooped up in the house all day, and Jenneh didn't either. At least when she was alone with the kid and the park was so close. She wasn't going to let the kid look out the window and watch the people on bikes all day. Yet, Jenneh never learned that no matter what the two did together, who eyes would always be zooming back and forth from one place to the next. One corner of the room to the other or under the bed to on to the other side of the bed. She didn't understand when the change came from crawling on the ground to running around like a mad man came into place, then again, the kid jumped through the crawling stage. Talking was a whole other thing. She wouldn't shut up, yet when new people were around, she clung the seventeen year old's leg like she had never seen another human face before.
Jenneh ran a hand through the curly dark brown hair and then onto the red cheeks from the wind beating at them from running around. The little girl giggled as Jenneh fixed her little maroon jacket and jeans that matched Jenneh's light skinny jeans and she as well had on a black jacket and matching converse, only Harpers's were much cleaner even through all the mud and rain she played through, but there was no mud and rain that they weren't in together. The week days did not count because the little child spent them with her aunt and uncle while Jenneh and her brother went to school and worked. She came home every Friday and during the night as well if Jenneh had time to drive her to her aunts house in the morning, normally Jenneh found time to do just that. Looking at Jenneh, you would of never guessed that the little girl was her own child. Even with the fact that they looked so alike, she did have Jenneh's eyes and the brown hair didn't come from Jenneh as well. Then there was always looking at Jenneh and seeing how tiny she was, Harper looked more like a sister and Jenneh, much to tiny to have ever had a kid. Still, Jenneh did not want to be the one to explain the little girl's father and the whole story about her grandmother, not wanting to let out her past and make her mother sound amazingly horrifying, yet she was, and Harper would never understand just how much, so the she dreaded the day when that question would pop up during dinner or when she tucked the kid in. It would leave a ever lasting silence of dead air that stung Jenneh to near death, yet she would have to tell, right? And she knew she would.
Anyways, that wasn't going to happen any time soon, at least she hoped. She was only two years old, with the mind of more like a five year old. She kissed Jenneh's cheek, giggled, and then ran off. Jenneh never took her eye off of her, and she never went far, like a puppy, but not that Jenneh would never compare her own child to a puppy knowing that they were nothing alike. Her head turned up to the sky for a moment as a cold breeze picked up, making her cheeks red as the little girl stopped to look up at the sky as well before running off like there was nothing interesting about the sky at all, chasing leaves was what she did. At least the park was almost empty besides a few other mothers with there kids and a few couples on the benches. Jenneh stood and watched Harper as she played with the leaves, looking back at Jenneh every few minutes and laughing.
