gonna peel back my skin and look at myself shaking and shivering, yeah.
What in the world was Cory doing up here? For some reason or another he really had no idea why in the world he'd ended up coming into a place like this in the first place. He'd much rather be off working on some sort of a design that he was supposed to be tattooing within the next couple of days, but he wasn't there. Instead he'd gone ahead and taken Nate's advice to get some fresh air and visit somewhere that he'd never been before. Alcatraz was always an option, but as usual Cory decided to put that off. It seemed like a boring place to go if you had no idea who anybody around was. Even if he ended up sneaking out of the group with nobody to explore with i t was bound to be a rather boring trip. The last thing he wanted to hear about was all the crimes people committed to end up on the island or the creative ways that they tried to get off of the island. So, Cory had wondered towards the Coit Tower and up towards the top. It was bound to have some sort of an interesting bit about it.
With a small sigh he ran a hand through his hair stepping up to the top looking around for a minute or two. It took a few moments before he realized just how high up he truly was. Now, Cory really didn't have a problem with heights, but from the bottom this hadn't looked to be this high. Oh well though, he would just get used to it. Perhaps if he enjoyed his trip up here he'd end up coming here a little bit more often. Perhaps it would become a new frequent of his. Cory was always looking for a new place to escape these days when he couldn't be alone at the apartment. That was the pain with living with two other people. It seemed like alone time was rather hard to come by. The worst part though was when they would look over his shoulder when he was trying to draw. He hated being watched and feeling like they were judging his first copy of something, so he did his drawing away from the apartment.
It seemed like the general search of the tower and the view that it offered didn't take too long. Cory wasn't too interested in the beauty that it seemed like it was supposed to posses. Instead, he found himself refuge in one of the brighter corners and slipped down to the ground letting his jean covered ass hit the floor. A black sweatshirt was pulled around his body and he sat with his knees to his chest. Almost as though it was some sort of a chore, he wearily pulled a pocket sized sketch pad and a pencil. It wasn't anything but a pencil that he'd found in the store. It was orange with white ghosts over it probably something that one of the guys had dug up from their kids' school supplies. It was when Cory ever realized that some of his co-workers had kids that he began to feel like the youngest guy in the world, no matter how old he'd been feeling ever since turning twenty-two. Sighing softly he put his pad on his lap and smiled as he opened up to the right page grinning slightly. It wasn't long until he was resuming a rather elaborate design that he'd been working on earlier.

Kaine was one to always be seen running around, and he always seemed to like going to places he hadn't been before. Either that or he would pick a favorite place and go there for awhile before finding a new better place to go. It was just that he loved the adventure of finding a new place to go, or seeing new places even if he couldn't go to them. Even just learning about places could keep him occupied for hours. That was what had brought him to the Coit Tower, he had just simply wanted to go up to the top and see the view it had. The Coit tower was somewhere he would always go when he felt like looking down up on the city. A place he went that made him feel separated from everyone else and a place he went to,to just simply think. Now he had never actually liked heights but for some reason looking down upon the city didn't bother him. It was just that the view gave him a good feeling, like it somehow made him know everything would be alright no matter what or how bad things might seem at some points. Kaine went up to the very top to think thing over very often and while people might always be coming and going most people didn't seem to stay long, or if they did it was just a group of people and none of them bothered him. Some for him it was mostly quiet since even when people insisted on talking loudly up there he could tune them out. Usually Kaine was one to want to be in amongst everyone having fun but the times he wanted to be alone and think no matter how many people might be around him talking he could still tune them out very easily. It was something he did at school quite often because a lot of the time teachers were talking about boring things, about thing that no one cared about, so he would just tune them out and draw or just write down his thoughts.
Kaine looked up the moment he heard someone coming up the stairs, for some reason the tower had been pretty much empty and barley anyone had come all the way to the top. It was days like this that Kaine craved company, because even though his intentions might have been to be alone once he was truly alone he almost always started craving company, even if he didn't know the person he would still talk to them while he was in a mood like he was today. It was like some days he wanted to be alone with his thoughts, some days he wanted to be with his friends, and other days he just wanted to be with someone whether he knew them or not. While Kaine might not be the most outgoing people and he wasn't one to trust people really easily he still did enjoy making friends. Since Kaine didn't think you could have too many friends. It was just that when it came to making friends he was careful, because he would rather have only a couple friend, true friends that is then have a lot of fake friends who would just end up hurting him somehow in the end. Kaine could live his life with just a few true friends, he would be able to get through just about anything with their help. While if he had tons of fake friends who were always backstabbing him and leaving him he wouldn't be able to get through anything, even with his true friends helping him because someone can only be hurt so many times before they just give up and stop caring. Everyone has a breaking point, people can only put up with so much before they just snap. It's really just how the world works. Its just not possible for someone to deal with everything life throws at them without snapping at least once in their life, unless for some reason they've had a very stress free life.
Kaine was watching Cory with interest having recognized him the moment he had appeared at the top of the stair case yet for some reason Kaine had decided not to right out say anything, it was really just because he was kind of tired and barley had any energy left in him at the moment. It had really just been a tiring day, which was yet another reason he had decided to come up to the top of the tower, because he knew he would be able to rest up at the top without anyone disturbing him, which may sound odd, but really this tower was like his refuge when he didn't feel like going home to his empty apartment. Watching Cory sit down in the corner of the other side of the tower Kaine laughed softly. It just amused him how Cory hadn't even noticed that he was here, it was amazing just how well he apparently blended in in the corner he was sitting in. Getting up with a sigh he walked over to the other corner and plopped down in front of Cory, hoping he wouldn't startle him since he seemed to be quite into whatever he was doing and Kaine knew what it was like to be so distracted and into something that you didn't even notice the world around you and the moment someone says something to you, you like jump up and freak out, or at least Kaine did at times when he wasn't expecting anyone to be around him. It was like sometimes you zoned into your own little world and it was like nothing else existed expect that world, or at least that was how it was for Kaine since he was always making up his own little worlds, just simply because he found his worlds more entertaining then the real world. For some reason he always found that the worlds he made up were so much better than the world he actually lived in.
Now when it came to Cory he was one of Kaine's best friends and Kaine had always been able to tell him anything without worrying about his reaction or anything. It was just that whenever he was with Cory he felt so young, even if it was only a four year difference for some reason he always felt really young around him. It just seemed that people were getting their lives together earlier and earlier in their lives and yet Kaine had no idea what he was going to do once he was out of high school and he had no great love like it seemed other people did. Sure there was a girl he was in love with, but he didn't have her. Sure he knew Cory didn't have some great love either but even so around Cory he just felt young, though for some reason being with Cory always made him feel better, because Cory didn't seem to have his entire life planned out like so many other people seemed to. It was kind of intimidating at times to see so many people with their lives planned out while you have nothing planned out at all."Hey..what are you doing up here?"Kaine asked softly hoping that by this point Cory had at least noticed that there was someone next to him. Kaine at least thought that he would have noticed by now unless he was really that into whatever it was he was doing at the moment. After all how long can it be before you notice that someone is sitting next to you unless you really are that far off from the world.
