You could tell that the girl had been crying that morning, her eyes were really red and she had to try and stop crying since Natalie was waking up. Sophie was laying on the couch and Natalie was laying on the ground next to Sophie. Sophie had to give Natalie the news. But she was too afraid to. But then finally Natalie awoke and stood up, concerned filled in the young girls eyes. "Mommy, Was wong?" The tiny girl wiped a tear away from her mothers cheek. Sophie forced a weak smile onto her face. How was she supposed to tell a three year old she has lukemia? Sophie bit down on her lip as Natalie crawled up next to her and cuddled into her shoulder. Sophie stroked her daughters hair softly.
Sophie took a deep breath and then wiped the tears on her cheek away. "Honey, your really sick." Sophie whispered into her daughters hair. Natalie peeked up at her from Sophie's shoulder. "Dont worry Mommy, i be okay." Natalie reasured her mother. Natalie had to be strong for Natalie. No more breaking down crying and telling her that she wont be okay. She had to believe that her daughter was going to be okay. Sophie then nodded. she smiled softly down at her daughter. "I know you will honey." She needed to get out now. She had to go somewhere and get fresh air. And she knew the perfect place to go.

As much as Sophie tried, she couldn't stop thinking about Natalie and luekima. It was hard not to think about it. Her daughter that she loved to death, had cancer. A cancer that can easily kill someone. But they don't know if its really bad yet or not. Or how far the cancer has spread, but Natalie goes into the hospital in a few days. The thought of poor little Natalie sitting in that big hospital bed, her tiny body all hooked up to tons of machenes, her skin a sickly pale...Sophie just didn't want to see it happen. Seeing it in her mind was bad enough, seeing it in reality...Sophie would just break down right there. But what mother wouldn't?
Sophie snapped out of her imagining when Natalie shrieked and clung onto her mothers side. Sophie looked down and saw a dog trying to lick Natalie. Sophie smiled a little and held her daughter up. "The puppy just wanted to play hon." She whispered into her daughters ear before the dog scurried away. Natalie waved at the dog saying, "By by" Sophie then set Natalie down on the ground and smiled a little. She knew she now had to be extra careful with Natalie because she gets bruised too easily now. Due to her cancer.
Natalie took off running towards a little bunny and Sophie smiled and watched her. She turned her head for two seconds and then she suddenly heard Natalie screaming. Sophie quickly looked over and saw Natalie laying on the ground crying. Sophie rushed over to her, really concerned. Sophie picked her up and held her close to her body, checking her daughter for any cuts or bruises. Thankfully there was only one small bruise. Sophie took a deep breath and looked around, trying to calm Natalie down. Not many people were around since it was early in the morning, maybe seven or seven thirty. And it was still dark and cold out in a way. Sophie rubbed Natalie's back softly shushing her, telling her she'll be fine.
